We've recently implemented our "Order by Monday, get it by Friday" policy.  It's proving HARD to implement.

Cue the circus music cuz this is what we've been faced with recently:

-- Privateer press hasn't been returning our phone calls to place an order.  We try day after day after day.  I've been pressing Jason hard to climb the ladder: talk to his supervisor.  Guess what, the guy we deal with regularly is the sales manager.  Ya, turns out they haven't been returning our calls to take our order because they're behind on shipping by 2 weeks and frankly don't want to make the situtation worse by taking more orders.  Doh!

-- So we place a privateer order with another supplier.  We tell them we have to get it here ASAP.  We order thursday hoping it arrives by Friday.  Nothing friday, nothing monday, nothing tuesday.  Can't get them on the phone.  They don't return our calls.  We finally get them at 5:30 on the phone and we're asking where our order is!  They are in the GTA how long does it freakin take to get a box here?!    They say the orders normally ship next day.  So what'd they do, ship it by mule?  Well it turns out that when he took our order on thursday he didn't do anything with it.  They don't ship anything until tuesday.  So they lied to us on thursday when they said it was shipped.

It is extremely unfortunate that you guys have to deal with this. The HK has great customer service, but you can't provided such good service if the backbone of the store (the products you sell and the suppliers of said products) are unreliable. Really unfortunate.

You guys should be getting the giftcards.

You're doing your best, and we all greatly appreciate that. The order system cannot work without cohesion with the suppliers and I will in no way hold HK accountable for the suppliers' shortcomings. You guys do a great job, keep it up.

You know what, honestly, you guys shouldn't be on the hook for stuff like that. Anyone with a shred of common sense and moral decency wouldn't hold you to your promise in the face of bull@#$% like that. Privateer Press and suppliers with loathsome business practices are real stumbling blocks when your trying to run a business right. I think you need to put in some disclaimers that certain situations are unavoidable.

I've heard this from Spud, and now more than ever I believe he's right.

Privateer is a medium-sized business that is still trying to run itself like a small business. It's causing them problems, and costing them money.

Just because you're a good miniatures company, does not mean you're a good logistics company. :)

They should outsource the whole thing or pony up and build the backbone. It won't be cheap, but it is probably the cost of moving to the next level.

I asked through the PGer channels.  This information has been passed to those involved.  Apparently they don't have dedicated retail personnel but the situation has been rectified.   They did remind me that they are having a huge release year.

Hopefully this means that HK will be contacted or can contact them and the issue will disappear.   This is in regard to Privateer Press only.

I think you should have a "blacklist" for certain companies, Privateer can be on that list until they prove otherwise. Items ordered from them are expected to take longer...say 3-4 weeks or whatever they are currently delivering their goods at.

I bounce and cut off your head!

Circle...got the new rules not sure how many points I have now. :P

2000 or so + points of Nids...some primed, some sort of stripped etc.

1000+ points of Chaos Marines.

2500+ points of Dark Savants.

3000+ points of Chaos Daemons...slowly...coming along.

Wow, that's rough. Let's not forget GW either. I'm not sure about their other systems, but any New Release blisters for LoTR are immediately going to GW Direct. Not only do I have to buy them from a GW store, but often the stores themselves don't stock the item and I have to order it in! Just a rant to clear my head... Sorry if anyone was offended.
