The Big Day

Friday, Day 2: 9:30am – 1am

With eager anticipation we spring from bed in the morning. While getting ready I reluctantly mark myself as a “normal” by putting on deodorant.


A three-way mirror allows me to muse over my magnificence.


But before we can brave the fantastic worlds of Gen Con we require sustenance. A quick McMuffin meal at McDonalds hits the spot while the grease adds a +4 against Fatigue checks.

We find the convention center (it is attached to our hotel by a bridge over the street) then line up to purchase our badges ($45/US per day). While in line we overhear there is a bag of loot you get just for registering. With our quest before us, we perform Spot checks to locate the bag pickup zone. Abandoning that, we execute a Gather Information and just ask a staff person.

We got all kinds of cool loot in our Gen con bag. The best is the Axis and Allies boosters. The first two people to come into the store and mention the prize pavilion will receive an Axis and Allies booster box ($15 Value!)

Treasure in hand, we made our way into the main exhibit hall.

At the main entrance to Exhibit Hall D, where all the exhibits are, we are immediately approached by the tightest security we’ve ever seen…
